Rongo by Devlab, food cost and menu engineering software in Tahiti
Rongo by Devlab is SaaS menu engineering software for restaurants, hotels and multi-outlet groups in French Polynesia. It links recipe cards, ingredient costs and sales to decide, dish by dish, what to promote, reposition, optimise or remove, and checks DGAE price caps on alcohol. Rongo is published by Devlab in Tahiti.

What Rongo does
- Recipe cards: ingredients, portions and cost per dish in one place.
- Food costing: ingredient cost, target margin and suggested price recalculated from imported data, in XPF.
- Menu engineering: Kasavana & Smith matrix, with STAR, PUZZLE, WORKHORSE and DOG dishes.
- DGAE compliance: each alcohol price checked against its cap, rated compliant, warning or over the cap, with an alert log.
- Multi-outlet: sales read by outlet and by service, such as restaurant, bar or events.
2
How data gets in
- Rongo imports Excel export files (.xlsx): items and purchase prices from the ERP (NAV exports supported), sales by outlet from the POS, requisitions and complimentary items.
- There is no real-time connection to the POS or the ERP: costs and margins are recalculated at each file import.

Good to know
- The Rongo application is in French, and prices are shown in CFP francs (XPF).
- Rongo is not a point-of-sale system: it works alongside your POS and ERP.
- Rongo monitors DGAE price caps and raises alerts; it does not file any declaration for you.
- No price is published on this site: ask for a demo by email.
